FAQ - Cost of publishing a cookbook

Postby RonDouglas » Sat Jan 19, 2008 2:51 pm

Hello Ron,
I must say you have to be one of the best
marketing persons on planet earth in that you give and
give and give some more, all with a personal touch.
Honestly, it's a joy reading your column.
Actually, I'm an American living in Ireland and
I've already published one cookbook and am in the
process of doing another. I would like to present
information on printing costs as well as provide a
list of printers who provide quality printing at a
minimal cost. Perhaps you could share the differneces
between digital colour and the more costly one. Also,
I'd like to know what program you use (i.e.
QuarkXPress, etc) and see an evaluation between them.
I've been using Quark though I've yet lots to learn
about it.
In any event, I wish you the very best with your
latest project and look forward to hearing from you
again.

Kind regards,

Thanks for your kind words. Please don't over inflate my already 'out of control' ego :-).

You're already miles ahead of most people because you've already published a cookbook. I think my course could really help you because 60% of it is actually about marketing and making your cookbook sell.

I go into detail about getting your cookbook done inexpensively and professionally. I reveal the personal resources I use for design work, typesetting, and "print on demand" printing. I usually get cookbooks done for under $3 (even less depending on quantity ordered) and in less than 10 days. I can usually do a promotion and use the money I get to cover the printing costs while still getting the books shipped to customers in 3 weeks.

I think you'll be quite pleased with the course.

Thanks for your questions.

Kind Regards,

Ron
